On Thursday we braved the bus system to get to the beach. The famous Bondi Beach where all the surfers go (well, this beach and like 20 others!). We had to take 2 buses there and back. On the way back, we took 1 bus and the lightrail because we realized we were very close to it. The lightrail took us all the way home. The second bus would have taken us a few blocks away. The bus was an adventure!!! One that we don't want to repeat. Stacey told us which buses to take, but it didn't tell us which way to go. So, we had to ask the drivers if we were on the right bus. Stacey said that the bus drivers are really great and will really help us out. Apparently all the good ones must be on holiday (vacation for us Americans) because each one we encountered was RUDE! And not because we were rude (I could understand if this was the case). The second bus we tried to get on was the wrong bus. Dave even put his ticket in because, when we asked the driver is this was the right bus, he grunted and pointed backwards. We assumed that he meant, yes, get in. But after Dave inserted his ticket, he grunted "across the street". Okay then. So when we got on the correct bus we had to tell our story to the driver and he asked us "What do you want me to do?". Ummm, I don't know, let him on? Weird. So Dave got on and all was good. But it was worth is because the beach was amazing! We went swimming - okay, really, we didn't swim as much as we jumped the waves. It was great! And, we only saw two topless sunbathers. Not bad for Australia. But we did see some men in speedos - bluch. Of course, they weren't attractive, skinny men, but old, beer belly men. Oh well!

Here's a view from the bus stop. With two hot guys in the picture as well!! :)

After the beach we went home to nurse our burns. We put sunblock on, but we weren't very good about reapplying after we went in the water. We love Aloe Vera!
