Monday - New Year's Eve

On Monday, we slept in and then went shopping before our big New Year's Eve evening! We shopped downtown and around Darling Harbor. After shopping we came back to the house to relax. We ate a late dinner and then went downtown to watch the fireworks. My stepmom works in a building downtown that overlooks the Sydney Opera House and the famous bridge. We, along with maybe 30 other people, went to her office (42nd floor) and watched the magnificant fireworks display! It was hard for us MNers to grasp that this was a New Year's Eve celebration and not the Fourth of July! I think that we've called it "The Fourth" many times...oops! After the show we walked about a mile back to our car instead of taking the train because there were so many people!
