Merry Christmas!
We hope that the holiday season has been wonderful for you so far! We've been busy celebrating with family and friends, shopping and eating far too much! 2007 was a busy year for us (we know, this sounds like every other letter you've received - we're hoping to make it less so!).
January: We celebrated Dave's 30th birthday by hosting a beer tasting party - we know a few that we won't ever try again - and had a party at Snuffy's Malt Shop in Roseville.
February: We witnessed by bother Mark marry Shelly (she's a wonderful addition to the family!).
March: We spent a weekend in Duluth at a house we rented right on Lake Superior with some incredible friends!
April: We celebrated our 2 year anniversary! Can you believe it?
May: We celebrated Becky's 30th birthday with a backyard Luau. We ordered far too much pulled pork - we ate it for days afterwards and it may be years until we have it again!
June: With the summer in full-swing at YouthWorks (a summer mission trip organization), no vacations were taken this month. To be honest, it was a pretty boring month!
July: See above :)
August: We went camping in Taylor's Falls with some awesome friends!
September: This month was busy! Becky's friend Kelly from college got married at Disney World. Becky was in the wedding and Dave's sister and husband joined us for a long weekend. Because we know you're wondering, Mickey and Minnie did make an appearance! We came back from the wedding and went to Itasca State Park with the Hawkinson family for a week! Becky got to help our nephew Eli walk across the Mississippi headwaters for the first time!
October: This month marked the beginning of our quest to get healthy! We joined Lifetime Fitness. How's it going so far, you ask, well...no comment.
November: Thanksgiving was spent with family - we ate a fantastic meal with Dave's family and amazing dessert with Becky's family (amazing because Becky made it!). Becky braved the crowds and went shopping with her mother and sister-in-law on Friday while Dave stayed back to decorate the house for Christmas.
December: Here we are getting ready for Christmas and our trip to Australia! We leave December 25 (we know you're jealous!) with our friends Mike and Jes to visit Becky's Dad and stepmom.
Of course our days were spent working at Accenture for Dave and for Becky both YouthWorks and Byerly's. Don't feel too bad for Becky, Dave spends most evenings working on remodeling the house. We're trying to help her reach her potential! We've remodeled five rooms, got new siding and new windows and tore down a deck in the past three years! Now we have three rooms to go and then on to the yard (it seriously needs help!). We look forward to great things for 2008 - like Becky's mom and stepdad's house selling (we're praying) and a nephew to be born in April! And of course, a completed house!
Wishing you a very happy Christmas season and a wonderful new year!
